Death Came By Sin And In The State Of Death There Is No Consciousness.

1. •“There [in death] the wicked cease from troubling, and there the weary are at rest. There the prisoners rest together; they do not hear the voice of the oppressor. The small and great are there, and the servant is free from his master” (Job 3:17-19). 
   

2. •“There is an evil in all that is done under the sun; that one thing happens to all. Truly the hearts of the sons of men are full of evil; madness is in their hearts while they live, and after that they go to the dead. But for him who is joined to all the living there is hope, for a living dog is better than a dead lion” (Ecclesiastes 9:5-6). 
   

3. •“For Sheol cannot thank you [God], death cannot praise you; those who go down to the pit cannot hope for your truth. The living, the living man, he shall praise you, as I do this day” (Isaiah 38:18-19).
